meg·a·lo·ma·ni·ac
/ˌmeɡ(ə)lōˈmānēˌak/
noun
a person who is obsessed with their own power. (Oxford Dictionary)

I heard David Platt teaching, when he mentioned that God is concerned with his own glory. The audience reacted. He explained: "Who should God worship ... you?!?!?"  The audience got the point and laughed.

If we truly believe that God is God - that he is the highest being that there could ever be - then God being concerned with his own glory makes perfect sense. We react to that with a hint of skepticism because seeking our own glory is not a good attribute for created beings (you and me)!  However, when we consider the Creator - the one whom there is no higher or other that can be worshipped - self-glory is the rule. That idea crushes how we have been raised to think and interact in society by beckoning us to behold the highest beauty of God.

John Piper, in this short article (access it by clicking --> here <--) or video (access below) shows how God's self glorification is not only logical, but it works in conjunction with our joy!
