Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you (John 6:27)
As I am writing this, at 3:00 p.m., I realize that I have not eaten today. The hours simply got past me on this busy Monday, and I never stopped to grab breakfast, lunch, or a snack!
So, no wonder I decided to share an article about food!
Truth be told, my sould feels satisfied in Jesus. I prayed this morning for this church and my family and the government. I prayed with my wife for specific people. I read the Word of God on my Bible app, then came to the church and spent time in one particular chapter of Job. Then I turned my attention to my next preaching passage in Mark (chapter 10, verses 35-45).
And even though I tackled a ton of pressing administrative tasks in between all of that, I truly feel satisfied. My heart is full of the love of the Father for me and for all of you.
Jesus is the ultimate soul food.
In this article ( --> here <--) by Uche Anizor, the idea of how God satisfies our deepest hunger is explored. Our hunger for God's Word is endless, but his supply is even deeper. We cry in the wilderness of our lives and he provides manna for our hungry souls. We cry for sustenance at his feet, and he feeds us and the crowd with what we think are few and limited resources.
We lack --> we hunger --> God provides, --> we live.
