How Do I Reconcile the Image of God as Judge with His Love, Grace, and Kindness?

I was blessed with this podcast this morning. The podcast's format is easy: Greg Kokul (renouned Christian apologist) and Amy Hall (editor of tons of Christian books) take e-mailed questions from listeners and give an answer. 

The question, this time, was how someone can reconcile the image of God as a judge with his love, grace, and kindness?
