As we walk through the Great Commission in our lives, individually and as a church, we want to find ways to live on mission in our everyday lives. That is tough, especially for the working parent with cares and committments that seem to be never-ending! Yet, Dr. Akin gives us four practical steps in which we, in our everyday lives, can plug in to Matthew 28:16-20 more and more. (video linked below)

1. Pray. Use resourses like the Joshua Project or Pray the Word Podcast to intentionally pray for different countries and people around the earth. It all belongs to God! Last Sunday, in Youth Ministry, we specifically prayed for the people in China, Nigeria, and Eritrea.

2. Plan. Think about your daily interactions and be ready to engage those in your path with a gospel conversation. It doesn't have to sound like a canned sales pitch - in fact, if it does, it probably will fall flat! Instead, it should be conversational, mixed with a lot of careful listening.

3. Give. At Sojourn Church, we are part of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Missouri Baptist Convention. That means that a portion of what we receive in offerings is given to the Missouri Baptists, and then to the Southern Baptists. They fund the International Missions Board that sends out missionaries worldwide! So, giving to your local church helps launch missionaries who God has equipped to be sent.

4. Shor Term Missions Trips. These are impactful, especially for the one who does the going. This helps the goer to put our American way of life in a global context, and helps them plug into a foreign gospel effort.
