What does the graphic of mittens and the Lord's Day have in common?  Read this short but potent article to find out more!  Access it by clicking -->here<-- (5 minute read)

If you have been young, or the parent of the young, you know how hard it is to get children ready for church -- especially when they are resistant! Why do we do that, when we should be resting on the day? The answer lies in the destination.

Church - the local gathering of believers - is what Jesus said is our truest family. Gaterhing with family around the throne of God, worshipping him side-by-side, and sharing life and struggles with them is the greatest rest this world knows. It is a shadow of the great family reunion that will happen in eternity. We can enjoy that glimpse of eternity right here, once a week (at an absolute minimum).

For it to be full and meaningful, author Megan Hill gives us these ideas:

(1) Worship together,

(2) Encourage one another,

Hebrews 10:24–25

24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

(3) Display mercy, and

(4) Put on your mittens!
